Dr. Dominique Myburgh
MBChB (Pret)
I graduated from the University of Pretoria with the degree Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) in 2004. Thereafter I completed my internship in 2005 and my community service 2006. In 2007 I decided to stay on in the public sector and worked as a Senior Medical Officer in Family Medicine and Accident/Emergency department.
During the course of these years I completed courses in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS).
In 2008 I decided to move into private practice, and work as a GP.
During the years, I developed a special interest in Dermatology and Aesthetics. I completed various courses in Aesthetic medicine during the years including training by Dr Karin Semprini.
In 2009 I joined the team at the Aesthetics Centre, Johannesburg. There I completed my training on the Lipolite lipolysis under Dr Jennifer Irvine and gained vast experience and knowledge in Aesthetic procedures.
I had found my passion.
I regularly attend Aesthetic congresses/workshops to continue to develop and expand my knowledge.
In 2011 my husband and I made the decision to move down to Cape Town both for work and a better lifestyle. Here I was fortunate enough to be able to join the team at The Bay Skin Care Clinic and continue what I love.
I am affiliated to:
HPCSA – Health Professions Council of South Africa SAMA – South African Medical Association AAMSSA – Aesthetic and Anti-aging Medicine Society of South Africa
Dr. Jeannine De Koker
(BChD Stell./UWC)
I graduated from Stellenbosch University/ University of Western Cape. I completed my community service in Port Elizabeth where I worked between 5 hospitals.
After that I started working in private practice in Bedfordview, Johannesburg. During this time I also did work for a dental company, Dentsply, where I helped do CPD courses and training both in South Africa and Ghana.
I then moved back to my hometown, Somerset West, as I missed the Cape too much. I started my own private dental practice in Somerset West with a special focus on both dental and facial aesthetics. I have been doing Botox/filler treatments for the last 3 years and I have had great success in this field at my own practice. My passion for Botox/Filler treatments has now become my full-time focus and I have recently sold my practice to do so.
My training:
Basic Botox® course -by Dr Alek Nicolic
Basic dermal filler course -by Dr Alek Nicolic
Advanced dermal filler and canula training with hands-on -by Dr Greg Wahl (Dermatologist, Germany)
Advanced Botox® and dermal filler training -by Dr Mauritio De Maio (Plastic Surgeon, Brazil)
Advanced Botox® and dermal filler workshop with hands-on -by Dr Zac Schabort (Dentist, Cape Town)
I like to stay updated with new knowledge and I am focused on continually learning. My other scientific interests are genetics and ecology.
I live in Somerset West with my husband and 2 dogs(my children). Even though I have experience in alternative uses for Botox, my main interest remains aesthetics. I look forward to pursuing my passion at The Bay as we share the same philosophy on patient treatment.
